Specialty: Sports Performance

Coach TJ “Iron” Anders is a native of New Orleans East which is a highly competitive area in Louisiana for football and basketball. It was there that he learned the true meaning of pushing himself to get better. He later attended Franklinton High School where he was an All-district offensive MVP in basketball and an All-State performer in football. He was also ranked as the #12 all-purpose football player in the State. After graduating from high school, he signed with Southern University where he helped the team win the SWAC Championship in 2003. It was at Southern University where he trained under super Speed Guru Tom Shaw of Sparq Training and Mr. “Gotta Go To Work” Billy Long who is a Super Bowl-winning Strength and Conditioning Coach with the St. Louis Rams and Division champion Kansas City Chiefs. After college Iron was signed to play Arena Football with Austin Turfcats. While training with the Turfcats, he suffered a major hamstring injury. It was this injury that challenged him to learn more about the functionality of the body and to pursue his NESTA Sports Trainer Certification. As Iron learned more about the science of the body and he was able to fix his own hamstrings, he also gained the knowledge to help other athletes stay injury-free, gain more speed, explosiveness, and quickness in the process. His greatest feat as a trainer is helping one of his athletes drop 1.5 seconds in the 40-yard dash in a year and a half!

Iron has been training local athletes since 2008. He has developed and implemented speed and agility camps with and for various organizations ranging from The City of Round Rock, RRSID, Athos Academy, Total Athlete Training Facility, Capitol City Bison (MPFL), summer camps for Life Changers Ministries, sports performance training with the YMCA as well as various youth organizations such as the ATX Longhorns and Central Texas Spartans. Iron has trained athletes of all abilities ranging from NFL all-pros to young athletes playing a sport for the first time. He incorporates a multitude of sports performance training techniques, all of which create a challenging and motivating environment for athletes to reach their goals. Speed, agility, flexibility, core strength, and explosiveness are at the center of every workout he creates for his clients. He has a natural love for training and people. His biggest strength is his ability to adapt the vision of his trainees and apply the right form of training based on the athlete’s goals.
